How much does a web site cost?
Web design pricing is probably the most controversial topic in the industry, however websites aren’t simple products which you could just buy off the shelves, they are products which should be crafted toward your needs. You cannot define a single price for it. A website’s price may vary from $200.00 to $50,000.00.
How do I establish a reasonable cost for my website?
There are several factors involved in the pricing of a website
1.Usability
This is by far the most important part of any web design; remember a good business analyst will ask you this simple question:
“What is the purpose of this website?”
They must also tell you whether it will be a simple website with just information, or if there will be user interaction on the site (meaning users can login, comment, post, add, remove their posts…etc.)
Always remember user interaction in any website, means there would be a lot of work for the web designer(s), therefore there would be an integration of a database, upon that they will charge you ridiculous amounts for.
Talk to one of our IT consultant if you are dealing with them at the moment.
2.Graphic design and illustrations
Graphic design and illustrations are one of those areas that you should consider paying for, although a web designer will include the cost of design in the website price – different designs and illustration can be purchased!
At wehostweb, we always outline different design options over the internet, so you can see, feel and truly understand the look on the site. We inform our clients about the reality of this industry, however there will be long hours dedicated to modifying those designs, so they become what they can, to meet the clients requirements.
3.Database and storing data
Some companies require specific databases so that they can store the user’s information, such as their profile, purchasing behavior, their transactions, their personal information…etc.
Creating databases are extremely difficult and should be under the supervision of a management information system specialist. This person creates the database from the behavior of the company; he/she also translates the words into terminologies so he can come up with something extremely unique.
At wehostweb we have expert system analysts with years of experience in creating those databases, as well as creating systems that reduce the amount of work done by automating the procedures of a company.
4.Special requests
Some companies require some specific needs in a website such as SMS features, purchasing with a phone, or some other needs which should be described.
These special request can sometimes be bought, however must sometimes also be created by a team of software developers. In some extreme cases, it may take 2 or 3 months to create a code to satisfy those needs and of course it’s a separate cost for the client.
Many times these special needs are previously created and can be used again, so some development companies will sell them as if they have created these codes from scratch.
At wehostweb we have a library of different pieces of codes, applications, API’s, Modules, Shopping cards, and many more which alone will answer 87% of our clients’ needs.
PLEASE DON’T LET DEVELOPERS OVERCHARGE YOU!!!
5.Structure of Website
Most companies might charge you on the basis of whether a website is using Html or other programming languages. They might charge you on the basis of whether it’s CMS or not.
Remember so many of the existing CMS’ on the internet are open source and they are absolutely free however the implementation and the coding of any particular CMS is time consuming and complex.
C.M.S stands for Content management systems. It’s a type of web design which let you Edit, Modify, save, delete, upload, download, decrease, and increase any part of your website without knowing any coding.
Here at wehostweb, all of our web developments are CMS so you can actually do it all yourself.
DON’T LET THE WEBDEVEOLPERS CHARGE YOU BASED ON THE PAGES THEY CREATE
And there are some other miscellaneous charges, that’s why the prices of web design vary But:
